Self Help and the CDP PrincipleThe High Tech age is fast replacing the most valuable resource of the human race! That resource is individual “self worth”. We have an amazing arsenal of gadgets and equipment to do things for us even to the point of doing our thinking for us. The marketing forces of the free enterprise system and the political system are like a hurricane wind bidding for our mind, spirit and body. We are being reduced to digits on a bottom line report. Individual Americans with their skills, gifts, abilities and personal initiative have always been the nation’s greatest resource. In the 21st century we see the continued evolution of greater dependency upon big government and a professional roller coaster that would have Americans believe there is little they can do to handle their own personal affairs without some type of professional help. |
THE PURPOSE OF THIS SITE
The purpose of this site is to raise our level of consciousness about our individual “self worth”. If there is one “worn-out-phrase” in our vocabulary that we need to totally eliminate it is; “you can’t do that.” This phrase is a favorite of the doubters, pessimists, those of little faith and the marketing forces that want to sell us their streamlined products and services. If those who came before us heeded that phrase we would still be living in the dark ages. It was the individual creativity and perseverance of Thomas Edison that enables us to go into a dark room-flip a switch and watch light flood the room. Edison was surrounded by the doubters reminding him of the times he had failed to put a filament inside a light bulb. Some even accused him of being insane. Edison simply replied he had never failed once-he had only found out 10,000 ways the thing would not work. Edison proved failure never comes until you quit trying. Stay with us we will reveal some great self-help secrets that many have never discovered!

I believe when we consider the facts surrounding choice and consequence we will see that it is the vital-absolutely required missing link not only in justice in America but in the entire society is C & C. There is nothing anymore basic in the human endeavor and experience than choice and consequence. It is one of the most important laws that parents can teach their children. It is the most important law when we make moral choices. It is the most important law when we make choices that are subject to the laws of the land.
For the purpose of definition we are not talking about the many everyday well-intended choices we all have to make in our lives that become almost robotic like. Sometime those choices result in unintended accidents and that causes us to learn the need for more care in making choices-but that is a lifetime process. Lets focus upon the important conscious choices good or bad that we make that can have long-term effect upon our own lives and the lives of others. The higher moral laws govern most of these kinds of choices. And our Creator has clearly marked a roadmap for us to follow.
My father made a bad choice and became an alcoholic. The bad choice he made was when he took that first drink of alcohol-he was headed toward the law of cause and effect. And the consequence was that his life was cut short at a fairly young age. In effect he is like many people who make the bad choice of consuming alcohol the consequence is they don’t just die they kill themselves and sometime they kill others when they drive. And there are many other important moral choices we have to make and many of them when we are young. So when we make important moral choices the consequence will be good or bad. Sometime when we make a good moral choice, we may suffer a little adversity before the end result is realized but if we have studied out the choice and made that choice with good intent-then let the consequence follows. Adversity in our lives is as necessary as air and water-so don’t let some adversity between our making a right choice and the end consequence that follows cause us to believe we made the wrong choice.
I am very fond of a religious hymn that you may have in your own church and one of the verses goes like this; Do what is right, the day dawn is breaking, hailing a future of freedom and right. Angels above us are silent notes taking of every action do what is right. Do what is right let the consequences follow. Battle for freedom in spirit and might and with stout hearts look ye forth till tomorrow. God will protect you then do what is right. Today in our society the missing link is the all-important law of choice and consequence.

GOING THE WAY OF THE WORLD
The most important self help information needed today begins with the family. More than 23 million juvenile cases were processed through the juvenile courts from 1985 through 2000 and that number is going up since 2000 when non-arrests are included. Most states vary from upper age jurisdiction for juvenile court from ages 15 to 17. Why is this happening? The answer is simple. Today we have become a self-interest culture and the kids are the losers. Let’s look at the fallout and the collateral damage. America has a 53% divorce rate. Many of the divorced spouses regardless of who has permanent custody of the kids believe the way to maintain the allegiance of the kids is to become their friend and forego their parental responsibility. With this approach parents deny the kids the very same thing that made strong characters out of them-a little adversity, disappointment, discipline and responsibility. Kids are smart and they know how to play the game. With the tremendous marketing forces in the world today much of it is directed toward kids. This includes Internet, drugs, tobacco, sex and dozens of other character traps kids are permitted to wander off into. Not to mention cell phones, computer type products, I-pods and dozens of other “things” to short-circuit worthwhile study habits, work habits and thinking habits. Self-help is all about thinking, planning and working a plan. Think about this! The family is the laboratory of society. Whatever comes out of that laboratory is what we will get in society.
